Performance problems with Intel GMA 900 after Ubuntu 9.04 upgrade

A few days ago I upgraded my current working notebook from Ubuntu 8.10 to Ubuntu 9.04 (Jaunty). Everything works fine excepts a massive performance problem with video playback. Flash movies on youtube.com were disrupted by frame dropouts and in full screen mode I could particulary count every frame.

After some research I noticed I was not the only one who had this problem. The procedure for installing the working drivers and library dependencies can be found on ubuntugeek.com. I followed the hint for changing the MTTR and now everything work as it did in Ubuntu 8.10.
